Eos began in 1998 with the 2 Jans, Jan Bayliss and Jan Vaisey. Both were regulars at the then Forest of Dean Folk Club. They soon started singing together at the club and around the local area, where they were often complimented on their beautifully blended harmonies and diverse choice of material, from acapella, traditional, and contemporary songs, and fine accompanying acoustic guitar playing. Their name was suggested to them at an early gig in Wales, as it means "nightingale" in Welsh (and, as they later found out, "Goddess of the dawn" in Greek!!) In 2000, they released their first album, "The Child Inside", the title track of which was written by well known song writer John David in whose studio the album was recorded. Eos were joined in 2004 by Ian Harvey and are now a trio.They have supported John McCormick , Chris While & Julie Matthews , Anthony John Clarke ,Vin Garbutt, Quicksilver as well as Raymond Frogatt.
